# The best AI tools for family offices, and who each one fits

The best AI tool for a family office depends on which part of the office you want it to cover. Enterprise seats such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot and Claude Enterprise give your team a capable assistant that your office sets up and governs. Portfolio platforms such as Addepar, Masttro, Asora, Eton and Aleta now add AI to the investment data they already hold, and private chat apps and concierge services fill other gaps.

Every description below comes from the company's own page (or, for Aurora, a Fortune report), accessed 2026-10-15. Each section says what the tool does well first, then who it fits and where its scope ends for a family office.

## The options at a glance

| Option | Examples | What it does well | Where its scope ends for a family office |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Enterprise AI seats | ChatGPT Business or Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Enterprise | Capable, familiar, no training on business data by default | A tool your office sets up and governs itself, under the provider's terms |
| Family office platforms adding AI | Addepar, Masttro, Asora, Eton, Aleta | AI on top of the portfolio's system of record | Answers come from the data in the platform |
| Private chat apps | Proton Lumo, Tinfoil, Venice | Strong privacy promises for individual chats | Do-it-yourself, with no link to the office's own information |
| Concierge services | Knightsbridge Circle, Aurora | Trusted people, lifestyle and travel | Built for lifestyle, outside the office's records and entities |

## Enterprise AI seats: ChatGPT, Copilot and Claude

**ChatGPT Business and Enterprise.** OpenAI says it does not train its models on business data by default, that you own your inputs and outputs where the law allows, and that ChatGPT Enterprise supports SAML SSO, admin-set retention and a Compliance API audit log. Eligible new Enterprise customers can store content at rest in regions including the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. It fits an office that wants one assistant for drafting, analysis and research across the team. The office still decides retention, which apps connect and who gets a seat. Our page on [ChatGPT Enterprise for family offices](/blog/chatgpt-enterprise-for-family-offices/) covers each setting.

**Microsoft Copilot** (previously Microsoft 365 Copilot). Microsoft says Copilot works across email, chats, documents and meetings in Microsoft Graph, and that prompts, responses and Graph data are not used to train foundation models. It fits an office that already runs on Microsoft 365. Copilot shows each user any content that user has at least view permission for, so old sharing settings on trust and entity folders matter. See [Copilot for family offices](/blog/copilot-for-family-offices/).

**Claude Enterprise.** Anthropic lists SSO, SCIM provisioning, role-based access control, audit logs, data retention controls and customer-managed encryption keys, with connectors to Gmail, Google Drive, Slack and Microsoft 365. Anthropic states it does not use inputs or outputs from its commercial products to train models by default, though a conversation you rate with thumbs up or down can be stored for up to five years and used for training. An organization owner can turn the rating feature off.

## Family office platforms that now include AI

These platforms are where your portfolio data already lives. Private SuperIntelligence works alongside them; our page on [Addepar, Masttro and AI](/blog/addepar-masttro-and-ai/) goes deeper.

- **Addepar.** Addison, Addepar's AI assistant, "draws on Addepar's unified data model to answer questions, surface relevant guidance and direct users to the right workflows," according to a March 2026 Addepar post. It fits investment teams that already report from Addepar.
- **Masttro.** Masttro's DocAI module ingests PDFs for liquid and illiquid assets and handles capital calls, distributions and valuation statements, pulling key data points onto the dashboard. It fits offices with a heavy load of private markets paperwork.
- **Asora.** The Asora AI Connector lets you query your Asora wealth data from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or any assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol, with read-only access scoped to your existing permissions and every query audit-logged. Asora says it never uses your prompts or data for training, and notes that once an answer reaches your assistant, that provider's terms apply.
- **Eton Solutions.** EtonAI runs inside the AtlasFive platform or on its own, with document extraction across 250+ document types, natural language querying and a knowledge graph. Eton describes it as a private, single-tenant instance and lists ISO 42001, ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2.
- **Aleta.** Aleta reads capital calls, K-1s and fund statements, and supports MCP so AI agents can query the family's wealth data in plain language. Aleta lists SOC 2 Type II and encryption at rest and in transit.

Who these fit: the CIO, CFO and controller who want faster answers from consolidated reporting. Where the scope ends: each assistant answers from what sits in its platform, so the principal's inbox, the household's calendar, deal email and travel stay outside it.

## Private chat apps

Private chat apps make strong promises for a single person's conversations. Proton says Lumo does not log your chats, uses zero-access encryption so "no one (not even Proton)" can read them, and never trains on your data. Tinfoil encrypts data to a secure enclave that Tinfoil itself cannot access, with guarantees you can verify through hardware attestation. Venice keeps conversation history on your device and relays requests without storing them.

These fit an individual who wants private answers to general questions today. For an office, they are do-it-yourself: none of them connects to your custodians, entity records or shared drive on its own. Our comparison of [private AI chat apps](/blog/private-ai-chat-apps/) covers each in detail.

## Concierge services, human and AI

**Knightsbridge Circle** describes itself as "a dedicated extension of your personal office," with a personal manager who looks after four members. It fits families who want trusted people for travel and lifestyle requests.

**Aurora.** Fortune reported on 2026-10-11 that Aurora is an invite-only app that pairs AI with human experts to manage members' dining, travel, luxury goods and wellness. Members can connect calendars and wearables such as Whoop and Oura, and Aurora uses that data to anticipate requests. The article describes a lifestyle service for the very wealthy; it does not describe work on a family office's records, entities or investments.

## How to choose for your office

Before you pick, answer these for your own setup. Our [AI vendor due diligence checklist](/blog/ai-vendor-due-diligence-checklist/) and [family office AI policy](/blog/family-office-ai-policy/) guides expand on each.

1. Which information should the AI reach: the portfolio, the principal's email, entity and trust documents, or all of it?
2. Who in your office will set it up, review permissions and keep it current?
3. Does the provider train on your data, and what do its feedback buttons do?
4. Where is the data stored, and who at the vendor can see it?
5. Do the answers carry citations your team can check?

## Private SuperIntelligence

Private SuperIntelligence from Mitosis Labs is the most capable AI, trusted with everything: an AI concierge for family offices that works across the family's own email, documents and data, answers with citations, and acts within permissions the family sets. Each deployment is built for one client, works alongside the platforms above, and the provider keeps no copy of the work. ## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best AI for a family office?

It depends on the job. Portfolio platforms such as Addepar, Masttro and Aleta add AI to investment reporting, while enterprise seats such as ChatGPT Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot cover drafting and research for the team, and private services cover the rest of the family's information.

### Is ChatGPT Enterprise safe for a family office?

OpenAI says it does not train on Enterprise data by default, lets admins set retention and limits its staff's access to incidents, permitted recovery and legal requirements. Your office still configures retention, connected apps and seats.

### Does Microsoft Copilot see everything in our tenant?

Copilot shows each user content that user already has at least view permission for. If a trust folder was shared with the whole company years ago, Copilot can surface it to anyone in the company.

### Do family office platforms train AI on our data?

Policies differ by platform. Asora states it never uses your prompts or data for model training; ask each vendor for its written policy.

### What is the most private AI chatbot?

Proton Lumo, Tinfoil and Venice each make strong privacy claims for individual chats, from zero-access encryption to secure enclaves to on-device history. None connects to an office's own records on its own.
