# AI tools for financial advisors and RIAs, compared on client data

The best AI tool for a financial adviser depends on the job you hand it. Adviser notetakers such as Jump and Zocks cover client meetings and the CRM updates that follow. Enterprise seats such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot and Claude for Work give each adviser a general assistant your firm sets up and governs. A private AI service covers the firm's whole body of client information in one deployment. Whichever you pick, it handles client data, so compare it on training, retention, records and Reg S-P oversight before features.

## The options at a glance

| Tool | What it does best | Training on client data | Who runs it | Fits best |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jump | Meeting notes, follow-ups and CRM logging, with a choice of transcript, summary or full recording | Jump says client data never trains its models | The vendor; your firm configures it | Advisers who want meeting work done |
| Zocks | Meeting notes, CRM and planning-tool updates, onboarding forms, without recording calls | Zocks says no LLMs hold or train on your data | The vendor; your firm configures it | Firms that prefer no recordings |
| ChatGPT Business and Enterprise | General drafting, analysis and research | Not by default | Your firm | Firms that want OpenAI's models |
| Microsoft Copilot | Drafting and search across Outlook, Teams, Word and SharePoint | Prompts, responses and Graph data aren't used to train foundation models | Your firm, in your Microsoft 365 tenant | Firms already on Microsoft 365 |
| Claude for Work | General drafting, analysis and long documents | Not by default | Your firm | Firms that want Anthropic's models |
| Private SuperIntelligence | AI across the firm's own email, documents and data, with citations | The provider trains nothing and keeps no copy | Mitosis Labs, for your firm alone | Firms with no one in-house to run AI |

Vendor claims in this table come from each company's own pages, accessed on October 15, 2026.

## AI notetakers built for advisers

Both adviser-specific products below are built around the client meeting. Charles Schwab's 2026 RIA study names notetaking and email drafting among the main ways RIAs use AI today.

**Jump** describes itself as an AI platform for advisers covering meeting prep, notetaking, client onboarding with document intelligence, and growth opportunities. It says it serves 50,000+ advisers, offers 40+ integrations with CRMs and planning tools, and runs on "SOC 2-certified infrastructure, enterprise-grade audit trails." On data, Jump says "your client data never trains our models, and every AI-generated output is reviewable before it goes anywhere," and lets firms "choose transcript-only, summary-only, or full audio and video recording." Its strength is configurability: Jump says firms can "configure to any policy."

**Zocks** describes itself as an AI assistant for advisers that handles scheduling, notes, CRM updates, follow-up emails, financial plan inputs and onboarding forms. Its distinguishing claim is that it "never records your client conversations." It also says there are "no LLMs holding or training on your data," that "you own your data with customized retention policies," and it lists 40+ two-way integrations, including Salesforce and eMoney. Its strength is the no-recording design, for firms whose policy prefers no audio on file.

Both are focused tools. They do the meeting and its paperwork well, and neither is meant to be the place where the whole firm's reporting, correspondence and research come together.

## Enterprise AI seats

**ChatGPT Business and Enterprise** don't train on your data by default, and workspace admins set retention. For Enterprise and Edu, OpenAI offers a Compliance Platform that exposes workspace logs to eDiscovery, DLP and SIEM tools, which matters for your books and records. Watch the feedback buttons: OpenAI says a thumbs up or down can send the whole conversation for training.

**Microsoft Copilot** works inside your Microsoft 365 tenant and only surfaces data each user already has permission to see. Microsoft says prompts, responses and data accessed through Microsoft Graph aren't used to train foundation models, and admins can search Copilot interactions and set retention through Microsoft Purview. If your archive already captures Microsoft 365, Copilot may be the shortest path to compliance sign-off.

**Claude for Work** doesn't train on your inputs or outputs by default, according to Anthropic. If someone submits thumbs up or down feedback, Anthropic stores it for up to five years and may use it for training; organization owners can turn that button off.

All three are strong general assistants. Each depends on your team for setup, permissions, archiving and vendor review, and each sees only what an adviser pastes in or what your tenant exposes. Our guide [ChatGPT for financial advisors](/blog/chatgpt-for-financial-advisors/) walks through setting one up for a compliance review.

## Tools that large firms build for their own advisers

Some of the biggest wealth managers have built their own. Morgan Stanley rolled out AI @ Morgan Stanley Assistant in September 2023 and AI @ Morgan Stanley Debrief, an OpenAI-powered meeting notetaker, in June 2024. JPMorganChase says its Connect Coach tool serves 12,000 users across the Private Bank and U.S. Wealth Management. These tools are built for those firms' own advisers. Our comparison [Your private bank's AI vs AI that works for the family](/blog/private-bank-ai-vs-family-ai/) looks at them in detail.

## How to choose for your firm

Ask five questions of any tool before your CCO does:

1. **Does it train on client data?** Get the answer in the contract, including how feedback buttons work.
2. **Does its output reach our books and records?** Rule 204-2(a)(7) covers written communications sent about advice, and makes no exception for drafts written by software.
3. **Is it a service provider under Reg S-P?** If it can access customer information, yes. It then needs due diligence, monitoring and a 72-hour breach notice. See [Reg S-P and AI vendors](/blog/reg-s-p-and-ai-vendors/).
4. **Does it sync with our CRM and archive?** A tool that leaves notes outside your system of record creates a second file to supervise.
5. **Can we describe it accurately?** The SEC examines AI claims for accuracy, so your ADV and website should match what the tool does. See [AI compliance for RIAs](/blog/ai-compliance-for-rias/).

One workable setup is a notetaker for meetings plus an enterprise seat for drafting. Firms that want one system across meetings, correspondence, reporting and research, without building it themselves, can look at private AI.

## Private SuperIntelligence

Private SuperIntelligence is the most capable AI, trusted with everything. It is an AI concierge held to a private-bank standard of discretion and service, working across your firm's email, documents and client data, answering with citations, and acting within the permissions you set. Each deployment is built for one firm, delivery takes weeks, and the provider keeps no copy of the work and trains nothing on it. Read more on [AI for wealth management](/wealth-management/).

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best AI tool for financial advisors?

For meetings, an adviser notetaker such as Jump or Zocks. For general drafting, an enterprise seat your firm governs. For AI across the whole firm's information, a private AI service built for the firm.

### What is the best AI note taker for financial advisors?

Jump and Zocks are two notetakers built for advisers. Jump lets firms choose transcript-only, summary-only or full recording, and Zocks says it never records calls, so pick the design your compliance policy prefers.

### Do AI tools for advisors train on client data?

Jump and Zocks both say they don't, and the business plans of ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot don't by default. Consumer AI accounts can, so keep client data out of them.

### Is an AI notetaker a Reg S-P service provider?

If it receives or processes your clients' information, it fits the rule's definition of a service provider, and your firm must oversee it, including a 72-hour breach notice.

### Do I need an AI assistant if I already use Copilot?

Copilot covers what sits in Microsoft 365. Advisers often add a notetaker for meetings, and firms whose data spans custodians, a CRM and many systems may want something that works across all of it.
