# ChatGPT Enterprise or Private SuperIntelligence: choosing AI for a family office

**ChatGPT Enterprise is one of the best AI workspaces a team can buy. A family office is buying something else: AI it can trust with everything the family knows, built for that one family and run for it. That is what Private SuperIntelligence is.**

It works across the office's own email, documents and records, answers with citations, and acts within permissions the office sets. Mitosis Labs builds each deployment for one client, from the hardware to the choice of model provider to where the data is stored, and delivers it in weeks. [7][8]

## Does this sound like your office?

- Your team spends its week summarizing documents, answering correspondence and rebuilding the same reports. [6]
- Nobody in the office has the time or the expertise to set up AI and keep it running. [6]
- The answers you need sit across custodians, fund administrators, accountants and the inbox. [5]
- Staff, advisers and family members should each see different parts of the family's records. [5]
- Before anything touches the trusts or the deal room, you want to know exactly where that information goes. [5]

If two or more are true, this comparison is written for you.

## Two different purchases

ChatGPT Enterprise gives your team a powerful assistant in a workspace that OpenAI hosts and your administrators configure. Private SuperIntelligence gives the family a private AI service, built around its own information and run for it by Mitosis Labs. [1][3][7]

| ChatGPT Enterprise | Private SuperIntelligence |
|---|---|
| **Who sets it up:** Your administrators configure the workspace, invite users and manage integrations [3][4] | **Who sets it up:** Mitosis Labs builds it around the family's entities, advisers, email and documents [7] |
| **Who runs it day to day:** Your administrators review access and monitor use [4] | **Who runs it day to day:** Mitosis Labs runs it, with a named contact [7] |
| **Where the work is processed:** OpenAI's service, hosted with major cloud providers [1] | **Where the work is processed:** An environment built for this one family, from isolated cloud to air-gapped [7] |
| **Training on your data:** Off by default for business content [2] | **Training on your data:** None. The provider keeps no copy of the work and trains nothing on it [8] |
| **Processing and telemetry:** Content is processed in OpenAI's service to answer each request [1][2] | **Processing and telemetry:** A client deployment captures none of the family's data and sends no telemetry back to Mitosis Labs [8] |
| **What it covers:** Your team's work in the workspace and the tools you connect [3] | **What it covers:** The whole office: reporting, entities and trusts, correspondence, memos and private questions [7] |

ChatGPT Enterprise's protections are real, and OpenAI documents them carefully: no training on business content by default, encryption in transit and at rest, and administrator controls. [2] They are the right protections for a hosted tool. A family office that wants to give AI everything needs a different arrangement: the family's information stays in an environment built for the family, and the people who run it answer to the family.

## What changes when AI can see everything

If your office uses AI one pasted paragraph at a time, each new question starts with only the context you provide. Citi found that the applications that work best in family offices solve everyday problems: summarizing documents, transcribing meetings, managing email and automating reports. [6] Connecting the relevant office records gives the assistant more context for those jobs.

Private SuperIntelligence connects to the office's own information and does the work an operator recognizes:

- **Consolidated reporting.** One view across custodians, fund administrators and accountants, with every figure cited to the statement it came from. [7]
- **K-1s, capital calls and filings.** Deadlines, distributions and signatories tracked across every entity, trust and foundation. [7]
- **Correspondence.** Replies to bankers, lawyers and family members drafted in the principal's voice. Sending and payments always need a person. [7]
- **Private questions.** Succession, health and what-ifs, answered inside the office instead of in a public chatbot. [7]

This is where privacy enables more useful work. An office that can trust the system with the trusts, the deal room and the principal's inbox gets an assistant that knows its whole world. With fewer connected records, the assistant has less office context.

For a capital-call workflow, ask the team to demonstrate the complete handoff on records you authorize for the exercise. Start with the notice, then follow the entity and signatory records used to prepare the draft. Open the citations before approving anything. The useful output is a reviewable draft, not an automatic payment. The service's published workflow keeps sending and payment decisions with a person. [7]

That demonstration also gives the office a practical way to discuss permissions. Which records should the operator see? Which should remain available only to the principal or an adviser? What happens when the signatory changes? They turn the service description into something the office can inspect before choosing a provider. PSI's approved offer covers the office's own information, citations and actions within client-set permissions; the demonstration should use those same boundaries. [7][8]

## Where does the family's information go?

A no-training promise answers one question: will the provider learn from your content? A family office usually needs the answer to a second one: where is the work processed, and who can see it?

With ChatGPT Enterprise, the answer is OpenAI's service. OpenAI states that it hosts the service with major cloud providers and does not train on business content by default. [1][2] For many teams that is exactly the right arrangement.

With Private SuperIntelligence, the answer is an environment built for the family. Each deployment is designed for one client, down to the hardware, the model provider and where the data is stored. The provider keeps no copy of the work, trains nothing on it and cannot see the outputs. A client deployment sends no telemetry back to Mitosis Labs. [8]

Deloitte's 2024 report found that 43% of family offices had suffered a cyberattack in the previous 12 to 24 months, rising to 62% of offices with more than $1 billion in assets under management. [9] RBC and Campden Wealth's 2026 report identifies cybersecurity and data breaches as the top near-term operational concern, cited by 59% of respondents. [10] When the information is this valuable, an office earns the right to decide exactly where it lives.

## Who builds it, and who keeps it running?

Buying seats is the easy part. The work is mapping the family's information, connecting the right sources, setting who sees what, testing it on real office work and keeping it right as the office changes.

Citi's May 2026 article, citing its 2025 Global Family Office Report, says that 57% of family offices cite lack of internal expertise as their biggest barrier to AI adoption. [6] J.P. Morgan reports that average annual operating costs exceed $6.6 million for offices with more than $1 billion in assets. [11] PSI offers an option for offices that want the service operated for them.

With ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI's guidance assigns onboarding, access reviews and monitoring to the office's own administrators. [4] With Private SuperIntelligence, Mitosis Labs sets up the service and runs it for the family. The office keeps every judgment and every approval; the team handles the technology. [7]

## Answers the office can check

An AI the office relies on has to show its work. Private SuperIntelligence answers with citations, so an operator can open the record behind an answer. [7][8] Mitosis Labs also publishes research on Cortex, the memory system behind the service. Its research page reports 96% correct answers, 0.0% incorrect answers and a 4.4-second answer time for Cortex in the Agentic Memory Index's 272-task evaluation. [12]

## When ChatGPT Enterprise is the right call

If your office wants a general assistant for staff, is comfortable with a hosted service, and has someone in-house to configure and govern it, ChatGPT Enterprise is an excellent choice. Many offices will use it for everyday drafting.

If the office wants AI it can trust with everything the family knows, in an environment built for the family, set up and run for it, Private SuperIntelligence is built for exactly that.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does ChatGPT Enterprise train on our information?

No. OpenAI does not train on ChatGPT Enterprise business content by default. Your content is still processed in OpenAI's hosted service to answer each request. [1][2]

### Can Private SuperIntelligence run without any outside connection?

Yes. Deployments range from isolated cloud to air-gapped, chosen to fit the work the office wants done. [7]

### How long does it take?

Delivery takes weeks. Each engagement is scoped with the family, and there is no public price list. [8]

## Five questions to ask any AI provider

Ask these of us, and of anyone else:

1. **Training:** will our content ever train or improve a model?
2. **Processing:** where exactly is our information processed, and who operates that environment?
3. **Visibility:** what can the provider's own staff see, and what does the deployment send back to them?
4. **Permissions:** can we decide which staff, advisers and family members see which records, and which actions need a person?
5. **Operation:** who sets it up, who keeps it running, and who do we call when something changes?

Expect clear, written answers to all five from whichever provider you choose.
